More Results from FV Championships

Harold Willers’ throwing group had excellent results at the Fraser Valley Track and Field Championships and all in all qualified seven athletes that will participate in 18 events at the BC High School meet.

In addition to Tasha Willing and Vik Gondara whose performances were reported with last week’s report, the following throwers qualified for the BC Championships:  Ben Invaldson led the way by winning both the senior boys hammer (50.87m) and discus (39.91m) and placed second in the shot put (14.31m).  Jayden Driver had second places in the senior discus (37.25m) and hammer (49.0m) and came fourth in the shot put (11.06m).  Nate DeBoer was third in the Sr. men’s hammer (45.82m), fourth in the shot put and seventh in the discus.  Rowan Hamilton was second in the junior men’s hammer (41.91m) and fourth in the shot put.  Rounding out the throwers results was Abressia Foote with a fourth in the junior girls race walk and an eighth place finish in hammer.

Middle distance runner Aiden Bingert was also missing from last week’s Fraser Valley write-up.  Aiden, who since January has struggled with a leg problem, seems to be making good progress now and qualified for the BC Championships by placing fourth in the final of the senior boys 800m (2:03.61).
